General information - trailers

Trailers for which the Maximum Authorised Mass (MAM) exceeds 750 kg are subject to an annual technical inspection (two-yearly for camping trailers, boat trailers and glider trailers) from the time they are registered.

Trailers for which the Maximum Authorised Mass (MAM) is equal to or less than 750 kg are exempt from any technical inspection.

Don’t forget that your trailer coupling device is also subject to a technical inspection before it is first put on the road, as well as during periodic inspections and after it has been removed.

Following documents are required for the inspection:
• Registration certificate (vehicle section)
• Certificate of conformity (if required)
• Latest inspection certificate (except first inspection)
• Identification report (except first inspection)
